Ministry Directory
Altar Servers
The Ministry of Altar Servers includes children and young people interested in serving the Lord during weekend liturgies. Along with assisting the priests, Altar Servers participate fully in the mass; through prayer, singing and their respect for the Word of God. Candidates are required to have received the Sacrament of First Holy Communion before serving.
Please contact the Parish Office for more information.
Emmaus
The Emmaus Ministry provides retreats given by lay people of the parish for lay people of the parish. It is a call to encounter the Person of Jesus Christ in our lives as Christians and members of a faith community – through prayer, sacrament, and through others.
It is meeting Jesus wherever one may be on their individual faith walk. There are four different modalities - Men’s and Women’s, in both English and Spanish. Notices of upcoming retreats are published in the parish bulletin.

Eucharistic Ministers of Holy Communion
An Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion (EMHC) is entrusted to assist in the distribution of the most holy Body and Blood of our Lord at the weekend Masses daily Masses. As an EMHC, you may be asked by the Pastor to take Holy Communion to the sick and the home bound at the hospital or in their homes. By accepting this responsibility, you are committing to transformational service that puts love into action. Parishioners called to serve in this ministry must receive approval from our Pastor. Please contact the Parish Office for more information.
Lectors
Lectors are parishioners who volunteer to serve during Sunday liturgies, holy days and feast days. They are responsible for communicating the Word of God during the celebration of Mass.
This Ministry shares the message of God to the congregation and thereby inspires and educates the assembly with a message of hope and redemption. Interested candidates should contact the Parish Office.
Legion de Maria
Members of the Legion of Mary are part of an international organization sanctioned by Holy Mother Church to perform liturgical (prayer) and corporal works of mercy through Auxiliary or Active membership.
Active membership includes visiting patients in hospitals and nursing homes; visiting prison inmates; feeding the poor and homeless; visiting the sick at homes; volunteering at hospice and promoting devotion to the Blessed Mother through parish events especially during the months of May and October; promoting the devotion to the Sacred Heart through consecration; and Enthronement of the Sacred Heart in homes of families who request it.
Respect Life Ministry
Please join us as volunteers of the Respect Life Ministry at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. This ministry is dedicated to defending human life from conception to natural death. Our work is not just about prayer and education, but about building a "culture of life" that inspires and motivates others. We also perform an annual Baby Shower to help support free services provided to pregnant women by the South Dade Pregnancy Help Center and enlist volunteers to work at the South Dade Pregnancy Help Center.

Ushers
Ushers assist during the Holy Mass by orderly and efficiently accommodating all participating with the celebration of the Mass. Ushers welcome the parishioners as they come into the Church, they find seats, accommodate the disabled and bring the Extraordinary Minister of the Holy Communion to those who are not able to go to the altar. This service is an ideal way to demonstrate your commitment “to love and serve the Lord”. Please contact the Parish Office for more information.
